jain’s collage of memories embedded in lucid journals; both handwritten and photographic; serve as a source of inspiration to her. she undertakes a cathartic approach that alchemizes those pages into body adornments.
a crossover between fashion and art, the collections are a translation [of non-linear chapters] of her life. when decoded and pieced together, they uncloak her autobiography-in-the-works.

neither time-sensitive nor site-specific, chapter ii x 川口晴彦 is a performance work devised in tokyo [january, 2021] to drive sales of our first run of shoes, ’together apart’ 
we collaborated with japanese artist haruhiko kawaguchi [1971 – ] who is known for vacuum-sealing couples in plastic bags to depict feelings of hindrance and suffocation, something that the pandemic has/had left us all enduring.
 
the evocative visuals of the participants wearing ‘together apart’ at odds with the shamanic drum and breath-work challenge you; emotionally, mentally, physically.
